I. Tamborra - On the astrophysical origin of the IceCube high-energy neutrinos
Contact scientific-secretariat at lngs.infn.it

The IceCube neutrino telescope recently opened a window on the high-energy neutrino sky by detecting a flux of astrophysical neutrinos with energies up to few PeV. The sources of those neutrinos are not yet known, although a few cosmic accelerators are currently considered as plausible candidates. I will discuss the expected emission of high-energy neutrinos from extra-galactic astrophysical sources as well as our chances to unveil the physics of the cosmic accelerators by employing neutrinos and their photon counterparts.
