Next March 16th, 2016 Gran Sasso National Laboratory will host the local selection for the the talent show FAMELAB 2016. Are you among 18 and 41 years old? Are you fund of scientific matters? Are you incline to communication? So, you are the perfect candidate!
FameLab is a communications competition designed to engage and entertain by breaking down science, technology and engineering concepts into three minutes presentations.
FameLab was started in 2005 in the UK by Cheltenham Science Festival and has quickly become established as a diamond model for successfully identifying, training and mentoring scientists and engineers to share their enthusiasm for their subjects with the public.
The 14 finalists, selected in 7 Italian towns, (Ancona, L'Aquila, Napoli, Padova, Perugia, Torino e Trieste) will take part to the FameLab Masterclass, a training workshop in science communication.
The selection organized by the LNGS will take place in L’Aquila on March 16th, 2016 at the “Auditorium del Parco”, and will consist in two phases: a pre-selection, during which at least five candidates will be selected, and a final selection to appoint the two finalists.
It is therefore necessary to prepare two different presentations.
The finalists will “face” in the in the National Final Event scheduled for April 26th, 2016 in Rome.
The resulting Italian winner will face the other 28 finalists in the Finale Event which will take place in Cheltenham, UK, in June.
