Lectures on Double Beta Decay

Dear Colleagues, we would like to draw your attention to the upcoming event: "Lectures on Double Beta Decay"
http://agenda.infn.it/event/cfa_BB which will be held at Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso (Italy) on 25th and 26th of June, 2015.
The event is organized in the framework of the activities of the EU funded CFA - Gran Sasso Center for Astroparticle Physics.

The series of lectures will be focused on Neutrinoless Double Beta Decay, including theoretical motivations and models and
experimental detection prospectives.

The program of the lectures includes:
1) Massive neutrinos in nuclear processes (Dr. Fedor ¦imkovic):
   the current status and perspective of the field of the single beta
   and double beta-decays is reviewed in the context of massive neutrinos.

2) The mechanisms of the neutrinoless double beta decay (Dr. Fedor ¦imkovic):
   the recent progress in theoretical description of neutrinoless double beta decay is reviewed.

3) Nuclear matrix elements for double beta decay (Dr. Fedor ¦imkovic):
   the current results of the calculation of the neutrinoless double beta decay Nuclear Matrix Elemets (NMEs)
   are discussed, in particular those achieved recently within the QRPA model.

4) Detecting neutrinoless double beta decay: current status and future challenges (Dr. Carlo Bucci):
   an overlook of planned experiments will be given, describing the advantages and downsides of upcoming and
   faraway projects. Finally, a discussion on the perspectives for a next-next generation of
   neutrinoless double beta decay experiments will be introduced.
