The Office is in charge of several outreach activities. In particular:
RELATIONSHIP WITH MEDIA: it manages contacts with media, offering scientific assistance in the realization of articles/videos. Provides a direct access to information’s sources and photographic products and takes care of the production and spreading of press releases.
PUBLIC AFFAIR: it organizes official visits and conference both national and international. Keeps contacts with research Institutions worldwide collaborating in the organization of public and scientific events.
OUTREACH: it organizes different activities meant to spread scientific information for general public, guided tours and scientific events such as the Open Day and the Researchers’ Night, providing related didactical material as well; training schools for teachers and summer schools for students; it furthermore/moreover manages the Museum of Physics and Astrophysics “Galileium” located in the Park of Science in Teramo.
SCIENTIFIC INFORMATION: it supervises all the web site contents, the update and management of Outreach and Library&Publications areas; manages the photo&video historical archive of the Laboratory.

The tasks of the administration service are as follows:
- accounting, budget and expense management, reporting;
- contracts and tenders, models and schemes of administrative and negotiation deeds, automation of the relative procedures;
- liquidation and payment of supplier invoices, parcels, seminars, foreign guests' fees, missions;
- cash monitoring (Unica treasury), management of the economic fund, inventory and assets;
- import-export (management of the LNGS customs warehouse), insurance and tax and tax obligations;
- administrative support to the RUP.

The Prevention and Protection Service (SPP) of the LNGS supports the LNGS Director (employer) in the performance of legal obligations related to the Italian Decree 81/08 and s.a.a. related to the safeguard of Laboratories personnel.
The Prevention and Protection Service of the LNGS mainly deals with the following activities:
- identification of risk factors, risk assessment, development and optimization of risk analysis and definition of preventive and protective measures for the health and safety of the workplace, in accordance with regulations and on the basis of specific knowledge of the laboratories;
- preparation of safety procedures for the various activities in all the facilities of the laboratories and of the related training programmes;
- access control and authorization (both staff - Users' Office - and vehicles - logistics management);
- coordination and training of those involved in fire prevention and of GLIMOS (Group Leader in Matter of Safety) of Experiments;
- collaboration with the doctor in health and medical surveillance, taking care, in particular, of the infirmary.
Moreover, the SPP supports the Director of LNGS ("Manager of the plant", according to the Italian Decree 105/15 and s.a.a.) in the control of major accident hazards such as:
- information and training of employees and users of LNGS with the organization, teaching and tutoring of specific periodic courses;
- the preparation, actuation, implementation, updating and distribution of the Safety Management System (SMS) and its procedures;
- the preparation and updating of the Internal Emergency Plan (PEI) and participation in the definition of the External Emergency Plan (PEE) by the Prefect.
Within the Service, there is the Radioisotopes' Bank Department that, in collaboration with the Qualified Expert, deals with:
- the management of the bank-deposit of radioactive sources in possession of LNGS, the verification of the use in safety of radiogenic machines and the distribution and collection of sources to authorized LNGS personnel;
- the transport of sources and the disposal of exhausted or no longer used sources.

The Directorate Service assists the Director in her/his tasks.
In particular the Service accomplishes: secretarial work for the Directorate; relationships with the Institute Headquarter Offices and local Bodies; Agreements with national and international Universities and Research Institutions; Lab Board Committee and the Scientific Committee meetings; associations and research appointments; IT protocol and the incoming/outgoing mail systems; Workers Union Organizations; conferences; elections; personnel management and recruitment procedures (competitions, personnel selections, research fellowships, fellowships); car driver activities.
Offices set inside the Directorate Service are:
Human Resources Office
HR Office manages the administrative procedures concerning hiring and termination of LNGS permanent and fixed-term personnel, of fellowship and research fellowship holders and of service agreements in compliance with the National Labour Collective Agreement (CCNL) and with the working regulations in force; it also manages: procedures of benefits and insurance policies applications; attendance monitoring system; tasks required for monthly emolument payments; personnel data management.

User Office
The Office manages users access-related procedures; provides support with entry and stay policies and handles international mobility programs for non Italian researchers and students visiting the Lab; it takes care of administrative issues connected to scientific agreements.
